Teaching Assistant for Alternative Provision

Responsible To:          Alternative Provisions Manager

Salary:                          £16,156 to £17,306 pro-rata (dependent on experience)

£13,633 to £14,603 actual salary

Hours:                         37 hours per week, term time only

 

We are looking to appoint two Teaching Assistants to join our Alternative Provisions Team at our Alternative Curriculum Centre on the Westwood Industrial Estate.  The successful candidates will work with teachers to support teaching, learning and behaviour management, providing general and specific assistance to students and staff under the direction, guidance and direct supervision of the classroom teacher and Alternative Provisions Manager.

 

Candidates must have Level 2 or 3 NVQ Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) with proficient practical skills, ideally within a secondary school.  Experience of working with children who exhibit challenging behaviours is essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for a primary trained teacher with passion and enthusiasm to join our team at Hartsdown Academy. We are looking for a teacher who is trained in primary teaching to join our International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme team to teach our year 7 and 8 students English, Maths and Science.
